Best Family Photography Locations in Broome

One of the questions I get asked the most is where I’d recommend for family photos in Broome. Luckily, we’re spoiled for choice, and each location has its own unique feel. Below I’ve listed, in no particular order, some of theb best family photography locations in Broome.

1. Cable Beach

2. Reddell Beach

One of my personal favourites is Reddell Beach. It’s usually nice and quiet, with incredible red cliffs and hardly any crowds. The only thing to keep in mind is that it requires driving along a dirt road to get there but it’s not far at all . If you’re happy with that, it’s such a beautiful spot for family photos.

3. Minyirr Park

Another lovely option is Minyirr Park, the bushland tucked in behind the Cable Beach dunes. We can wander along one of the bush tracks before making our way into the stunning sand dunes. If time allows, we might even make it all the way down to the beach before heading back. It’s a wonderful choice if you’d like a mix of native bushland, rolling dunes and, potentially, the ocean all in one session.

4. Gantheaume Beach

Gantheaume Beach is another fantastic option for family photos and is located at the southern end of Cable Beach. You can either park opposite the Broome Turf Club (the horse race track) and take the short walk down to the beach, or, if you have a 4WD, drive down the beach access ramp and park right on the sand. From there, we’ll leave the crowds behind and wander a little further south towards Gantheaume Point, where the beach becomes much quieter.

5. Entrance Point

Gantheaume Point is another fantastic option, with its rugged rock formations, dramatic coastline and sweeping ocean views. It’s a beautiful location if you’re after something a little different and captures the wild beauty of Broome’s coastline.

6. Simpson Beach

A bit of a hidden gem is Simpsons Beach on the Roebuck Bay side of Broome, facing east. It has gorgeous red cliffs, patches of greenery and mangroves, giving it a really unique look that’s quite different from the beaches on the west coast. It’s a peaceful little spot that many visitors don’t even know exists.
