ABOUT JULIA & WORKING TOGETHER
I started my photography business in 2015, so I’m coming up on over a decade of shooting weddings, elopements and family sessions across Broome and the South West of WA.
Hundreds! Over the past decade, I’ve photographed weddings and elopements across Broome, the Kimberley, and the South West, from intimate beach elopements at Cable Beach to forest weddings in the Southern Forests region.
Absolutely. I wholeheartedly believe in supporting the LGBTQ+ community and their right to celebrate love however they choose. Love is love.
Yes, always. On the day I carry two cameras at all times, each with dual memory cards recording simultaneously. During editing, image files are securely backed up on multiple devices.

A booking fee is required to secure your date and ensure I’m exclusively reserved for you. For family photo sessions, the booking fee is $300. For weddings and elopements, it’s 25% of your chosen package price. For all-inclusive elopement packages, the booking fee is 35% of the package price, as I begin organising and booking your team of local vendors straight away. The remaining balance is due three days prior to your family session, or 30 days prior to your wedding or elopement.
I typically book weddings and elopements 6–12 months in advance, with certain months and popular dates filling up faster than others. I’ve already started taking bookings for 2028, so if you have a date in mind, it’s never too early to get in touch.
As soon as you’ve chosen your date and venue, send me an enquiry and I’ll let you know my availability. Even if your plans are still coming together, I’m always happy to have a chat and help you start the process.
The booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Your booking fee is what secures your date and allows me to reserve that time exclusively for you, meaning I turn away other enquiries and bookings for that date. It also covers the time spent preparing for your session or wedding, including planning, communication, location advice, and (for all-inclusive elopement packages) coordinating with your vendor team.
I completely understand that sometimes plans change and unexpected things happen. If you need to cancel, your booking fee is non-refundable, as it secured your date and meant I turned away other enquiries for that day.
If you need to postpone, I’ll always do my best to work with you to find a new date that suits us both. If your wedding is moved more than 12 months before the original date, your booking fee can be transferred to your new date, subject to availability. If we can’t find a suitable alternative, or if the postponement falls within 12 months of your original wedding date, the booking will be treated as a cancellation and the booking fee will remain non-refundable and non-transferable.
Absolutely! I’d love to chat over the phone or meet via Zoom call. If you happen to be nearby, I’m also happy to catch up in person to make sure we’re the right fit for each other.
Definitely. I happily travel across the region and beyond for weddings, elopements and family sessions. You might be surprised at how affordable it is to get me there. I don’t need anything fancy.
Travel fees vary depending on your location. For family sessions, a small travel fee applies for locations outside my base areas in Broome and the Southern Forests. For weddings and elopements further away, accommodation may also apply depending on the location. Get in touch and I’ll put together a quote for you.
Once your booking fee has been paid, you’re welcome to make payments of any amount, at any time, through your online invoice. The only requirement is that the full balance is paid 30 days before your wedding.
Every wedding is different! Most couples book my 6 or 8-hour package, but I also offer smaller wedding and elopement packages. Get in touch and I can help work out what suits your day best.
Absolutely! If you’d like a little more coverage than your package includes, extra hours can be added at any time for $400 per hour. This is a great option if you don’t quite need to upgrade to the next package but want an extra hour or two to cover, say, more of the reception or a sparkler exit at the end of the night.
JULIA’S STYLE & APPROACH
My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I’m always watching, anticipating and looking for the moments that matter most: the quiet glances, the belly laughs, the happy tears and all those little in-between moments that often become the most treasured memories.
By staying present and keeping an eye out for those meaningful interactions, I’m able to capture photographs that feel genuine, emotional, and natural. I also have a love of vibrant, true-to-life colour and warm natural light, creating images that bring you straight back to the feeling of your day.
Mostly candid, with a little direction. I’ll never ask you to stand in a certain way or hold a smile that isn’t real. I’ll give you simple prompts to help you relax and just be yourselves, and the rest takes care of itself.
Sure. If there are any special moments, family or friend groupings or meaningful details that are important to you, please let me know before the day so I can make sure I don’t miss them. That said, I don’t work from a detailed shot list. After photographing hundreds of weddings, I know how to anticipate the moments that matter and capture them as they naturally unfold.
I find the best photos come from being present and responding to what’s happening, rather than ticking off a checklist. If there are any family dynamics, surprise moments or sentimental details I should be aware of, I’d love to know. Otherwise, you can relax, be fully present on your wedding day, and trust me to tell your story in a genuine and natural way.
No, I photograph weddings on my own and after hundreds of weddings, I’ve never found the need for a second photographer. One of the things my couples often tell me is how relaxed the day felt with just one photographer. Instead of having multiple people following you around with cameras, it’s just me. It keeps things low-key, unobtrusive and allows you to stay present in the moment without feeling like you’re constantly being photographed.

WEDDINGS
All my wedding and elopement packages include 8–12 sneak peek photos within 48 hours and a private, password-protected online gallery with all your images delivered in both high-resolution files for printing and web-sized files for sharing online. Most importantly, you’ll receive a beautiful collection of natural, authentic images that capture the moments and emotions of your day.
Absolutely. There are a few things I factor in when helping plan your timeline, including sunset time at your location and what moments matter most to you as a couple. We’ll work through this together on our initial Zoom call.
Yes! I have great relationships with local vendors across both Broome and the South West. I don’t, but I can connect you with videographers I’ve worked with and personally recommend. Just ask!

ELOPEMENTS
The biggest difference comes down to the number of people and the feel of the day. An elopement is usually a more intimate, experience-focused celebration with just the two of you (plus your celebrant, witnesses and photographer), while a micro-wedding includes a small group of your closest family and friends.
Both are wonderful, and I love shooting both.
You’ll need a registered marriage celebrant to legally marry you in Australia. I’m not a celebrant myself, but I have a fantastic network of celebrants across Broome and the South West that I’m happy to recommend.
The good news is that you don’t need to be an Australian citizen or resident to legally get married in Australia. The main requirement is that you submit a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) to your celebrant at least one month before your wedding (and no more than 18 months beforehand). You’ll also need valid passports (or other approved identification), and if either of you has been married before, proof that your previous marriage has legally ended. On the day, you’ll need two witnesses over the age of 18.
No. In Australia, you must lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) with your celebrant at least one month before your wedding date.
Absolutely! I’d be honoured to be one of your legal witnesses if needed. If you’re eloping with just the two of you, your celebrant can usually help arrange a second witness.

If you’re travelling from overseas, I recommend getting in touch with your celebrant at least 3–6 months before your wedding. This gives you plenty of time to complete the paperwork, gather any required identification or supporting documents, and organise everything before you arrive in Australia.
Yes! My all-inclusive elopement packages are designed for couples who want a stress-free experience without having to send out countless emails, coordinate multiple suppliers, and organise all the little details themselves.
I’ll plan your day from start to finish, with photography, location planning, celebrant, hair and makeup, flowers, and other special touches included. For the more adventurous couples, I also offer a helicopter elopement package, taking you from Broome to a breathtaking remote Kimberley location for a truly unforgettable experience.
FAMILY SESSIONS
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourselves. I recommend choosing outfits in neutral or earthy tones that complement each other rather than matching exactly. Avoid large logos, busy patterns and bright neon colours.
If we’re taking photos at Broome’s beautiful red cliffs, I’d also suggest avoiding reds and oranges, as they can blend into the landscape. Likewise, if we’re shooting in bushland, try to avoid green clothing so you don’t disappear into the surroundings.
I offer three family photography packages to suit different families and occasions. My Short & Sweet session runs for 30 minutes, my Fun & Relaxed session is 1 hour (my most popular option), and my Extended Family session allows 1.5 hours for larger family groups.
I find one hour is the sweet spot for most families. It gives everyone time to relax, settle into the session and forget about the camera, which is when the most natural and genuine moments happen.
Of course, I love dogs! The only exception is if your session is held in a National Park or a venue that doesn’t allow pets.
Honestly, it happens and it’s completely fine. Kids are kids! I’m experienced at working with little ones and know how to keep things relaxed and fun. Some of my favourite family photos have come from the chaos, not despite it.
Yes! Gift vouchers are available for all of my photography sessions and make a thoughtful gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, baby showers or just because. The voucher can be personalised with a special message from you and will be emailed to you as a PDF, ready for you to print or forward to the lucky recipient.
Absolutely! Grandparents are always welcome to join in. My Fun & Relaxed 1-hour family session is perfect if you’d like to include them, giving us plenty of time to capture the whole family together, as well as smaller groupings and those special moments between the generations.
LOCATIONS & TIMING
Dry season, which runs from May to September, is the sweet spot for weddings and elopements in Broome. The weather is reliably stunning, the light is incredible, and the landscapes are at their most photogenic. This is also when I’m based in Broome, so it’s the best time to book me for anything in the Kimberley region.
October to April is my South West season, which also happens to be when the region is at its most lush and green. Spring and autumn are particularly beautiful for outdoor weddings and elopements in the Southern Forests, with wildflowers in bloom and the Karri trees looking their best.
Absolutely. After years of shooting across Broome and the South West, I know plenty of spots that don’t make the tourist brochures.
Broome’s dry season (May to September) is the most popular time to get married, with warm sunny days, low humidity and very little rain. The wet season (November to March) brings hot, humid weather, spectacular afternoon storms and the occasional tropical cyclone. October and April are considered the transition months between the two seasons, so the weather can be a little more unpredictable. Most weddings and elopements in Broome are planned during dry season for this reason, though the wet season does produce some incredibly dramatic skies if you’re feeling adventurous.
YOUR PHOTOS & GALLERY
Your photos will be individually edited and delivered via a password-protected online gallery. You can share the link and password with family and friends, and anyone with access can download photos at no extra cost.
Wedding galleries are delivered within 4 weeks. Family session galleries are typically ready within 7-10 days.
Your online gallery will be available for six months, giving you plenty of time to download your photos or share them with family and friends. If you’d like to keep your gallery online for longer, cloud storage can be extended for a small annual fee.
Yes! All of your images are included as high-resolution files, perfect for printing, along with web-sized versions that are ideal for sharing online with family and friends.
I always recommend backing up your images once downloaded so they can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Yes! I offer beautiful fine art albums for those who want to turn their photos into something tangible. There’s nothing quite like sitting down with a cup of coffee and flicking through an album, rather than just having your images sitting on a computer or phone.
