Broome Weddings and Events – A Guide to Your Perfect Wedding

A beachside outdoor wedding setup in Broome features white chairs facing a white wooden arch adorned with flowers. Palm trees surround the area, offering a breathtaking view of the ocean and rocky landscape under a clear blue sky, making it one of the most stunning wedding venues in Broome.

Planning a wedding in Broome is such an exciting adventure, and one of the venues I’m often asked about is Broome Wedding and Events. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph a number of weddings at this award-winning venue over the years, and it’s such a gorgeous spot to celebrate your day.

The Location & Setting

Nestled on the edge of Roebuck Bay, just eight minutes from the heart of town, Broome Weddings and Events boasts panoramic views of Simpson Beach and the turquoise waters of the bay, framed by Broome’s iconic pindan red cliffs.

Hosts Bec and Myles and their dedicated team are committed to making your wedding day extraordinary. Broome Weddings and Events offers flexible packages and customisation options to suit every couple’s vision. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a grand affair, their tailored approach ensures that every detail aligns with your preferences. The venue is primarily an outdoor event space, featuring a spacious 10m x 15m deck, with a 10m x 10m section covered by a beachfront marquee.

Broome Weddings and Events just keep getting better, and as of this wet season they’ll introduce a brand new undercover area, that will give couples peace of mind with a reliable wet weather backup. This addition not only means your day can go ahead rain or shine, but it also opens the door for weddings during the shoulder season – a huge win for couples wanting more flexibility around dates.

Ceremony & Reception Spaces

For ceremonies, couples have the option to exchange vows on the beach, the amphitheater-style slipway or amidst the lush gardens, each providing a unique setting.

Receptions can be tailored to your preference, whether it’s a relaxed cocktail-style event, a mingling setup, or a formal sit-down dining experience. Broome Weddings and Events are happy to accept external caterers for your event. Venue hire includes bar staff for the
evening. If your chosen caterers are not providing staff to serve the food, Bec and her team can arrange extra staff to do this for an additional cost.

On-Site Photo Opportunities

The venue offers numerous options for capturing stunning wedding photos, including the beach, mangroves, and red cliffs. Therefore, there’s not really any need to go off-site. In addition, the golden afternoon light here is incredible for portraits. However, one little thing to keep in mind is that Simpson Beach doesn’t actually face due west where the sun sets. As a result, the light dips behind the horizon a little earlier than it does on Cable Beach or Reddell Beach, for example, so we’ll lose that golden glow sooner. From a photography point of view, this simply means we’ll want to plan your timeline carefully. That way, we can make the most of the softer light before it disappears and, if needed, sneak in some portraits a touch earlier in the day.

Off-Site Photo Opportunities

If you’d like to mix it up and head off-site for portraits, there are some stunning spots nearby. Gantheaume Point, with its rugged cliffs and ocean views, is only a 15-minute drive and perfect for golden sunset shots. It does get busy between June and August, but it’s still possible to find quieter spots. Reddell Beach is another favourite, about 10 minutes away via a corrugated dirt road. With red cliffs, white sand, and the sun setting into the Indian Ocean, it’s a romantic spot to slip away with a bottle of Champagne while I capture the moment. Having these locations so close means we can sneak away for portraits without keeping you from your guests for long.

Atmosphere & Experience

Every wedding I’ve photographed at Broome Weddings and Events has had the same relaxed, welcoming vibe that Broome is famous for. Guests can kick off their shoes, soak up the ocean views, sip on cocktails and dance the night away.

From my perspective as a local wedding photographer, working with a professional and supportive venue team makes the whole day flow seamlessly – not just for couples, but for every vendor involved.

It’s the kind of venue that perfectly balances tropical paradise with a laid-back Kimberley charm — and it always translates beautifully in photos.
