Ash and Josh made my dreams come true a few weeks ago when they invited me to photograph their elopement at Eco Beach. Full of fun and fabulous to the core, this adventurous and ultra-relaxed couple strayed away from tradition and decided to hire a helicopter to get hitched on a secluded part of the Kimberley coastline.
The original plan was to get married in North Queensland but the border closures meant they couldn’t get over there from Perth. Ash and Josh wanted beach and sunshine so they decided on Eco Beach Resort south of Broome instead. Planning their big day in only a few short weeks, the couple was lucky that everything ran so smoothly and they were able to secure every vendor they wanted.
They got ready in separate rooms at their ocean view villa with Bonnie Louise taking care of hair and makeup for the bride. After Ash got into her beautiful Rachel Rose gown and Josh into his super smart Rodd & Gunn suit the pair shared a quick first look before getting picked up by Hillary our helicopter pilot. After a short flight along the stunning coastline, we landed on a secluded part of the beach for the very intimate ceremony with the wonderful Kelly Morrow there to make it all official.
When I later asked Ash about why she chose this location she said “The ocean is a big part of our lives and we always knew that we would be married on the beach. Eco Beach is a very special place to us and the perfect mix of luxury, privacy and relaxation. We can’t wait to be back!” When I asked the couple about a standout moment of the day they both agreed that the helicopter ride with Hillary from KAS was absolutely magic.
If you’re reading this and thinking this sounds like the absolute perfect way to get hitched, what are you waiting for? Elope!
