First Look, Helicopter Ride & Surprise Entrance at Simpson Beach: Jess & Kristian’s Broome Wedding

Would you believe, Sydney couple Jess and Kristian literally chose Broome for their destination wedding after stumbling across my photos on Insta?! They saw the red rocks and turquoise waters and went, “Yep. That’s our place.” How wild is that?!
Jess and I started planning this epic day a year ago with Laura from Frontier Helicopters (logistics and all) and seeing it all come together was pure magic.
The day kicked off at the Mangrove Hotel where the couple shared a super sweet first look followed by photos, before we headed off – yep, in a helicopter – to the jaw-droppingly beautiful James Price Point (JPP), also known as Walmadany. Think: red cliffs, white sand, and turquoise ocean in every direction. This was also where Jess and Kristian shared their personal vows and cracked open a bottle of Champagne to celebrate. Total magic! During our photos, Jess mentioned to me that this coastline is literally the most beautiful place she’s ever seen. I couldn’t agree more, this place is very special.
Just when you think it couldn’t possibly get any better – boom – back in the helicopter for a scenic swoop over Cable Beach and Gantheaume Point, before touching down on Simpson Beach – James Bond style – where guests and their three children were already gathered for the surprise entrance.
Marriage celebrant Kelly Morrow absolutely nailed the ceremony with Jess’s sister and Kristian’s brother as the legal witnesses. From there, everyone partied the night away at Broome Weddings and Events, complete with a pizza truck dishing out the goods, a fun cake cutting and local music duo AJ and Emma serving three killer sets that kept everyone on the dance floor well into the night.
Honestly, it was one of those days you wish you could bottle. Jess and Kristian, your energy, your love, your sense of adventure – it was next level and I’m beyond grateful to have been along for the ride.
DREAM TEAM
KIND WORDS
JESS + KRISTIAN
We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Julia. From the very beginning, she made us feel comfortable, listened to what we envisioned, and brought such a calm, kind and professional energy to every interaction.
On the wedding day, Julia was more than just our photographer – she was a grounding presence and a joy to be around. She captured every moment so beautifully and naturally, without ever making anything feel posed or forced.
“Every photo tells a story, and we’ll be cherishing these images for the rest of our lives.”
