Juz and Brenton’s clifftop wedding at Gantheaume Point was one of my absolute favourite weddings of 2019. The theme was ‘coastal vacay vibes’ and the atmosphere was to reflect fun, love and laughter, with some laidback Broome touches.
The couple from Melbourne organised a whale watching/sunset-cruise on the catamaran Karma IV for all their guests the day before the wedding and I was lucky enough to join in the fun and document it for the couple. It was an absolute banger of a day and everyone was just in awe of how amazing the whales were. You can see more from this day here.
A favourite detail of the wedding on the following day was the location the pair had chosen to tie the knot. Held on a clifftop at Gantheaume Point, the ceremony encompassed views of Cable Beach and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and was beautifully set up by Kristina from Broome Vintage Wedding Hire. Brenton made a grand entrance and flew in on a helicopter with his three groomsmen, his father and Justine’s brother. They had all just enjoyed a 20 minute flight up to Willie Creek with KAS Helicopters before flying back down Cable Beach and landing near the ceremony location. Facilitated by celebrant Elle Saunders, Juz and Brenton shared personal vows in front of their 70 guests gathered for this special occasion.
The reception venue was the Broome Surf Lifesaving Club with a backdrop of Cable Beach. Ash from A Plus Events + Hire and Lauren from Broome Sunsets Hire nailed the reception setup and Carl and his team from Bali Hai Cafe and Restaurant catered with some superb food.
Following on from the wedding, everyone watched the staircase to the moon from the Mangrove Hotel with cocktail in hand and canapés galore. To top off the wedding week, the newlyweds and their guests headed to the races at the Broome Turf Club for the annual Broome Cup. Justine and Brenton even threw a few bets down on the horses and got amongst the local two-up post racing.
